Guitars by the Sea 3 in 2024 was led by tutors Mark Eden, Stephen Gordon & Kia Robeson.
It was our biggest event so far, sponsored by Knobloch Strings and Maestoso Music, and attended by 25 guitarists from around the UK who played varied arrangements for ensemble and guitar orchestra.
We also heard from luthier Stephen Frith, who gave a very interesting presentation on guitar-making and the science of acoustics. Paul Gregory contributed to this session by performing on different guitars, and demonstrating variations in tone.
We also had a session on sight-reading for guitarists, with useful insights and tips from the tutors. Players on the course contributed their experiences and challenges.

Young artist Kia Robeson gave a fantastic classical guitar recital featuring contemporary compositions, and also directed the guitar orchestra.
